Linux PCs in public libraries 2

As a result of being in Birmingham on 26th April 2006 I came across some new PCs running Linux that are available for public use on the 5th floor of Birmingham Central Library.

I thought it might be idea to start this thread so that others can report any such development in other places.

Hmmm this I find very interesting. I assume from my days studying..before computers in libraries, that they are run by the councils but are the indepentant like schools with certain decisions?, my reason for saying this is because they are often left out of the promotion list, especially the education one, and I was wondering if there is anyway of promoting using open source into them?

Good news on the birmingham front, sometimes I feel it’s a shame alot of people don’t use them as much as before, but I am just as to blame for that as the next person!
