On an event about Licenses you might like to consider involving Malcolm Kendall and one of our members Paul Tansom in this if they are available. A read of their recent postings in the Licensing Issues in OSS - Discussion Forum indicates that they have quite a bit of knowledge about this matter. Like you I have expressed the view that OSSG should hold an event in May. I think your posting indicates that you could get the lawyer you made contact with to give a talk then.
I will speak to Margaret Ross who is Chair of the BCS Software Quality SG about this. I am sure she will be very interested in the suggestion made at the UKUUG meeting. At the recent BCS Software Quality SG in Cheltenham where I presented a Research paper there was some discussion about Open Source. It might well be possible to get a few speakers from the Software Quality SG involved in an event with OSSG.
Also Margaret certainly had in mind holding a joint meeting with OSSG and BCS Hampshire, which she is also Chair of, in the Autumn.

I certainly agree with you about not being too ambitious. As already indicated in another posting I personally think it would be a good idea to aim to have an event with a speaker at least every two months.
Do you have in mind holding an event on 7th June in London - Open source roll out to schools?
To all
I suppose in theory the website is set up to discuss the above in the Events Discussion Forum, but there again this is all very important for the Committee Forum.
