Re: actions outstanding to finalise programme

Everything is sorted and ready to go for the 27th October 2005. Please see the news and upcoming events item I have posted about the Southampton event. It is also listed on the BCS website for forthcoming events, which I assume means details appear in Computer Weekly and Computing at some stage. I will probably need around £15-20 to pay for refreshments (ie coffee,tea, and biscuits) as apparently even though the venue is free we may have to make some use of the Catering facilities at the Institute. However I need to look further into this to fully ascertain whether that is correct. I had in mind doing some kind of buffet for this amount of money, but if we do have to pay a nominal amount towards refreshments then I leave it up to the Committee to decide what finance we want to put into the event.

I understand that we may now have a gap in September 2005, because Simon Phipps said yesterday at the OSSG Informal Committee meeting event with OSI that he is unable to speak then. Obviously Paul will be aware of this, but I might suggest that a follow-up on the email from Peter Murray about the AFFS might produce something for September in London.
