MarkI thnk that you did a fantastic job in publicising the Southampton event and Paul has been doing similarly for the December event. Now that we have a programme in place, however, I think that we should take a more holistic approach, with one individual being responsible for publicity. This would avoid multiple approaches to the same people and each individual organiser having to establish contacts afresh. I have no strong feelings about who does this but have usually turned to Patrick who has good contacts in this area. My assumption is that we would want to publicise the overall programme, with detailed publicity for each event as it draws closer, Now we have a programme out for a few months, this should be easier for us,Gary Gary LloydSenior Manager ? BCS Hants and the Quality SG have or are going to include details of this event on their websites. For some time now details of the Southampton event have appeared in the BCS Diary in Computer Weekly, the BCS listings in Computing, and on the main BCS website. Also application for BCS SG funding is being made as per other recent postings on this site for a buffet for the Southampton Event. For the quarter page advert in Computer Weekly/Computing I mention below I suggested to BCS HQ a banner of "OSSG Autumn Programme - Next Two Events" for Southampton and Oxon meetings. I am aware that Paul has applied for an advert for the following December events - so would they be part of our Winter programme?I am happy for others on the Committee to follow up and see whats going to happen about these adverts or suggest changes as they may have better BCS HQ contacts than me.RegardsMark --- Adrian Walmsley <adrian.walmsley@bcs.org.uk> wrote:> yes absolutely - feel free to show these emails to> others on your committee.> > I'm signed up with the OSSG Plone website myself,> and come to meetings when> I can, and I was gutted not to be able to make the> Open Source in schools> meeting on 7 June due to a diary clash> > cheers> > Adrian --- Mark Elkins <markelkinsmsc@yahoo.co.uk> wrote:> Adrian> > Although I was not originally involved on the OSSG> side with this meeting I have contacted BCS HQ about> the possibility of including details of it in a> quarter page advert in Computer Weekly/Computing> along with a meeting I have organized for 27/10/05> at Southampton Solent University.> > I would be happy to liase with you about sorting out> the finer points of the meeting and confirm that I> will be attending.
