Dr Adrian Midgley GP will talk for the BCS Open Source Specialist Group (OSSG) on Wednesday 11th April 2007 about the benefits to any country requiring health service automation of choosing an Open Source approach, and examples of FLOSS implementation and operation in hospitals with available software, and about his own experience of using FLOSS in general practice and about building the support ecology required.

Venue - BCS Central London Offices, First Floor, The Davidson Building, 5 Southampton Street, London WC2E 7HATime - 1800 hours for 1830 start.

Nick McGrath, Director of Platform Strategy, Microsoft Ltd recorded a programme with Alan Cox, Open Source Kernel Hacker (and one of OSSGs past guest speakers) on Monday 5th March 2007. Nick informs me this is likely to be broadcast on Radio 4 at 2100 hours on Wednesday 11th April 2007 (interestingly the date of the next OSSG event).

Looks like a good one and it looks like there is a good chance the recording can be downloaded after the broadcast
